MAMA Mother Nature
Curated by Emin Mammadov, ‘MAMA Mother Nature’ serves as a powerful visual dialogue—merging tradition with innovation, mythology with contemporary thought, and art with ecological consciousness. At its core is Leyla Aliyeva’s enduring commitment to sustainability and cultural dialogue, which informs both the concept and execution of the exhibition.
Spanning painting, sculpture, installation, digital media, and immersive experiences, the featured works examine nature as both a wellspring of inspiration and a fragile system in need of urgent protection. Artists capture the essence of landscapes, the rhythm of natural cycles, and the pressing necessity to safeguard our planet’s future.
Far more than an exhibition, ‘MAMA Mother Nature’ is a call to reflection and action. It invites audiences to reconsider their relationship with the Earth, encouraging dialogue across cultures and inspiring a renewed sense of environmental stewardship.
As part of the London Design Biennale, the project joins a global platform where art and design intersect to envision a more sustainable future. By bridging Azerbaijani heritage with contemporary expression, the exhibition contributes meaningfully to the Biennale’s overarching themes of innovation, creativity, and ecological responsibility.
Following its debut in Baku during COP29 (November 2024), the exhibition will continue its journey to Bahrain (February 2025) and Rome’s MAXXI Corner (May 2025)—adapting and expanding with each stop to include new perspectives and artistic voices.
