Autonomous textiles: the future of heritage
Creating textiles is an ancient craft, weaving together social, political and economic histories and revealing the composition of civic fabrics. Often pigeonholed by the broader heritage label, disciplines such as textiles can carry a reputation for exclusivity, or looking backwards to bygone eras, but today, textiles are being revitalised for the future by smart technology and innovations in material design.
